Chase - all called for and present,b/w line illus title-page, contents+illus lists/tables,3-157pp contains 29 stories.Overall a solid,sound clean copy,particularly for the book's age. Rhoda Campbell Chase b.? active,lived and worked Kingston,New York - d. August,1959, was an American illustrator and painter, known for her illustrations of women and children in the early part of the 20thC. This was part of a period when technological innovations in halftone and colour printing facilitated the "Golden Age of American Illustration" - 1880s-1930s,of which she was part.She was also, contemporaneous with other noted female illustrators Jessie Willcox Smith,Clara C. Peck,Elizabeth Shippen Green,and Violet Oakley of the same period and similar style. A collection of 29 children's stories from this prolific authoress,this title is preceded by 9 other titles and followed by another 4 from her penned series of 14,of: 'THE SANDMAN STORIES.'
